Как сообщил министр науки и высшего образования Польши Ярослав Говин, массовые акции протеста против закона о полном запрете абортов повлияли на позиции властей Польшу по этому вопросу, пишет Associated Press. По словам чиновника, демонстрации против закона заставили власти прислушаться к мнению народа. Ранее Сейм Польши принял в первом чтении законопроект, который предлагает ввести полный запрет на аборты. До этого с инициативой запретить аборты выступили объединения «Польская федерация защитников жизни», в которую входят более 90 pro-life организаций, и «Стоп абортам». Петиция с требованием поддержать документ набрала 450 тысяч подписей. Законопроект вызвал массовые протесты в стране. Texas announced it will remove government funding for Planned Parenthood affiliates via the state " s Medicaid program. Governor Greg Abbott " s office announced late Monday that Texas Health and Human Services Commission sent a letter to the abortion provider notifying them of the defunding. In a statement, Gov. Abbott explained that the move to end Planned Parenthood " s Medicaid participation came because of the series of undercover videos released by a California-based pro-life group. " The gruesome harvesting of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood will not be allowed in Texas and the barbaric practice must be brought to an end, " stated Abbott. " As such, ending the Medicaid participation of Planned Parenthood affiliates in the State of Texas is another step in providing greater access to safe healthcare for women while protecting our most vulnerable — the unborn. " In the notice of termination letter, sent by the Office of Inspector General to Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, the state laid out what it called " a series of serious Medicaid program violations. " " You failed to prevent conditions that would allow the spread of infectious diseases among employees, as well as patients and the general public. Specifically, you allowed individuals posing as commercial buyers of fetal body parts to handle bloody fetal tissue while wearing only gloves, " reads the letter. " Your staff were not trained in infection control and barrier precautions with regard to the handling of fetal blood and tissue or they failed to comply with the minimum standards that mandatory training requires with regard to these critical public health and safety issues. " Over the past few months, the years-long debate over removing government funding from Planned Parenthood was reignited with the release of several undercover videos. |
| Ukrainian Orthodox priest is accused of desecration of national symbols Verbichno, the Ukraine, August 20, 2015 Archpriest Vladimir Greben, Rector of the Orthodox Church of Nativity of the Mother of God in the Verbichno village of the Turiysk district of the Ukraine’s Volhynia region, has been accused of “desecration of the national symbols”, reports Pravlife.org. The priest allegedly ordered to paint over the Ukrainian state emblem on the church gate. Deputy of the Volhynia regional council Alexander Pirozhik (the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda”) appealed to the public prosecutor’s office and the Security Service of the Ukraine with the request to look into the “provocation”. According to Archpriest Vladimir, provocations in Verbichno indeed took place and the priest has already reported them to the law-enforcement agencies. The life of the Orthodox community had been peaceful until several “activists” appeared; one of them intends to run for chairman of the village council this autumn. A month ago, the priest relates, these activists (it is the custom with those who seize churches) organized an assembly in the village in order to discuss the matter of jurisdiction of the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, but there were no legal consequences of this. The painting over of the national emblem of the Ukraine was merely a scheduled repair of the fence round the church territory: the fencing was repainted in blue and during the works the upper yellow-blue plank on the gate was covered with a new layer of paint. Will the law-enforcement officers see a crime in this? It remains to be seen. According to the Pro.church.ua portal, there was no image of the national emblem on the church gate. On the very day when respective “loud” publications appeared in the Volhynia regional press, an assembly was held in Verbichno regarding a reformation of the village council. The activists took advantage of the opportunity and tried to give the discussion another turn: regarding the church jurisdiction; but the community was not interested in their initiative. According to Fr. Vladimir who has served in this village for 38 years, the new Church-political group of activists is closely linked with the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda” (“Freedom”) whose representative voiced the “sensational” request at the session of the Volhynia regional council on August 14, 2015. The Church of Nativity of the Mother of God was built in 1886. | Важный аргумент пролайф-сообщества, звучащий для абортивного лобби как приговор, состоит в двух противоположных ответах на один и тот же вопрос. Как Вы думаете, сколько бывших сотрудников абортивной индустрии впоследствии стали противниками абортов и пополнили ряды пролайф-движения? Ответ: более 500 человек. Причём, речь идёт только о США… А теперь, внимание (!), сколько активистов противоабортного движения изменили свои взгляды и присоединились к абортивной индустрии? Ответ: (ноль). Именно поэтому идейные вдохновители кинопроекта рассчитывают не только на «отрезвление» общества, но, пожалуй, в б о льшей степени – на приток новых членов в движение pro-life. Несомненно, такой расчёт оправдан и не только морально, но и научно (по крайней мере, социологически). Ведь, подобный прецедент, хотя и в другом жанре, в США уже имел место. Так, 7 февраля 2010 г, в перерыве финального матча по американскому футболу Super Bowl (наиболее рейтинговая национальная трансляция в США), телезрители впервые в истории подобных событий увидели антиабортную социальную рекламу. Полуминутный телевизионный ролик рассказывал об истории известного чемпиона – Тима Тибоу, который увидел мир только благодаря тому, что его мать не поддалась на уговоры врачей сделать аборт. Результат не заставил себя ждать: по исследованиям общественного мнения около 4% сторонников абортов, увидевших эту социальную рекламу, признались, что пересмотрели своё отношение к жизни нерожденных детей. Иными словами, опыт США убедительно, а главное эмпирически, доказывает, что всего лишь 30 секунд социально позитивного контента в прайм-тайм одного из популярных телеканалов способны уберечь от аборта миллионы (!) детей. Очевидно, «Unplanned» способен на большее, что подтверждают первичные кассовые сборы. Об этом косвенно говорит и активизация проабортных (читай, антисемейных) сил накануне выхода фильма на экраны. Кстати, на обвинения в «откровенных сценах», рассказывающих о сути аборта, 38-летняя Эбби Джонсон ответила столь же откровенно: «Впервые в истории мы в этом вопросе выходим за прежние рамки, делая это для того, чтобы показать всё то зло, которое несут в себе аборты. Мы показываем, что аборт – это насилие…». |

| World Health Organization publishes manual on best ways to kill unborn babies by John-Henry Westen Geneva, June 22, 2012 The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a guide detailing the most effective ways to kill unborn children, with different methods at various stages of the unborn child’s development. The document is the second edition of “Safe abortion: technical and policy guidance for health systems” which was originally published in 2003. “It is a horrific read,” stated Scott Fischbach, Executive Director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) Global Outreach. “Following these guidelines will assuredly kill women and their unborn children, especially in developing nations,” he added. “Some of the recommendations, WHO admits, are based on very low evidence. They are truly reckless and deadly.” International abortion advocates lauded WHO’s new guide as a ‘major step forward’. IPAS, the organization which was founded on the creation of a vacuum device used in abortion, praised “WHO’s respect for the essential role of abortion access in women’s health and their ability to fully exercise their human rights,” evidenced in the new document. The guidelines include four main topics: estimates on unsafe abortion worldwide, the latest clinical recommendations to perform abortions, recommendations for “scaling up” services, and advice on policymaking and legislation. The last of the four areas is not one usually found in medical advice documents, but WHO stresses the application of a “human rights framework” to advance pro-abortion policymaking and legislation — especially for young women.
