| CRIMEAN PENINSULA Kirill lamented the Ukrainian church " s support for one side in the conflict between Kiev and Moscow over the Crimean peninsula saying they further fan division instead of working to put an end to the crisis. Russia annexed Crimea during the 2013 revolt against a government in Kiev which had been seen as pro-Moscow and that would not allow Ukraine to foster closer ties with Europe. The Moscow Patriarch praised the Vatican for pushing for sobriety in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, explaining its " satisfaction " over the Holy See " s position of " calling for peace talks and ending the armed clashes " between Crimea separatist and the military from Kiev. The Russian patriarch pointed out that the Vatican " s stance on the issue showed that Rome joined Moscow in defending Christian values and other ills troubling both Orthodox and Catholic faiths. Kirill assessed relations between the Orthodox Church and the Vatican. He said it demonstrates " positive dynamics, primarily thanks to their clear understanding of the need for Orthodox and Catholic believers to act jointly in order to protect traditional Christian values and counter modern challenges such as secularism, discrimination of Christians, family crisis and the dilution of moral principles in private and social life. " The Moscow Patriarchate has often criticized churches under the Ukrainian Orthodox patriarchate for purportedly spreading anti-Russian sentiment by supporting protests in Kiev. Archbishop Shevchuk has dismissed the claim, insisting that the Greek-Catholic Church seeks reconciliation between Moscow and Kiev. At the same time, the Ukrainian church sought to dissuade Russians believing the " propaganda " of their government. | Archive Modern medical equipment delivered to Al-Hosn hospital of Patriarchate of Antioch 31 March 2021 year 16:40 With the assistance of the Russian Orthodox Church, new medical equipment has been delivered to Al-Hosn hospital in Syria. The hospital, working under the auspices of the Orthodox Church of Antioch, provides treatment to some twenty thousand patients every year. Mechanical ventilators, X-ray equipment and other medical devices, as well as a power station were brought to the hospital by the Russian military. The aid was rendered in response to a request sent by His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. Taking part in the charitable project was the Christian Culture and Heritage Support Foundation. “We are very grateful to the Russian people, Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian army, and to Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu. We thank Patriarch John of Antioch and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, who cooperate closely and, as a result, substantial help is being provided to our Christian communities at this time of hardships,” medical director of Al-Hosn hospital, Khalad Yazigi, said, as cited by the Zvezda Russian TV channel. Al-Hosn hospital is located in Homs province – one of the regions in Syria that have been most severely affected by the hostilities. The hospital specializes in rendering emergency assistance and has units of general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedic and plastic surgery, gastroenterology, internal medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, cardiology, oncology, neurology and infectious disease. Hospital personnel include 40 doctors and 100 nurses and technicians. With the help of benefactors, the Patriarchate of Antioch constructed a new six-storied building to create additional bed space (at the moment 50 people can simultaneously receive in-patient treatment). With finishing works on the sixth floor already completed, a cardiac surgery unit and a cath lab can be soon opened there, thanks to the presented equipment. Russian specialists will help their Syrian colleagues install the new medical equipment. As Bishop Efraim of Seleucia, secretary of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Antioch, noted, the Patriarchal Al-Hosn hospital renders necessary medical aid to all local residents, regardless of their religion. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God. The wonderworking Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, which was brought to Russia from Mt Athos in 1648, is kept at the convent’s Church of the Dormition. When in the Soviet times the convent was closed, the icon became a part of the collection of the State Historical Museum. On 6 May 2012, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, returned the icon to the Russian Orthodox Church. During the Liturgy, Archimandrite Antony (Sevryuk) was consecrated as Bishop of Bogorodsk, a vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. After the Litany of Fervent Supplication, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church offered up a prayer for peace in Ukraine. After the Liturgy, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill said a thanksgiving before the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God and addressed the worshippers with a Primatial homily, saying in particular: “I cordially greet all of you with a feast of particular importance for the city of Moscow and the whole Russian Orthodox Church. | Правильные мысли высказаны в статье. Всё сказано четко и ясно, без лишней дипломатии, которая в нынешних условиях не нужна, поскольку превращается в ширму для сокрытия правильных взглядов. Чего нам бояться, если Правда - за нами. Чего нам бояться? С нами Бог. Разве история с Крымом не является прямым Божиим вмешательством в дела человеческие? Ведь еще в феврале этого года никто - от Путина до Обамы - не мог предположить такой сценарий с Крымом! Слава Богу, у Путина хватило мудрости увидеть ситуацию правильно и решительности - чтобы просто сделать так, как Бог послал в нам руки. И пусть кто-то опровергнет это! Правильно сказано в статье, нам не надо ничего бояться. Нам надо делать так, как считаем нужным. Я только бы еще добавил: нам, народу России, надо при этом всем сердцем быть верными Богу, молиться Ему, просить прощения о наших грехах и благодарить Его за все. И доверять Ему безгранично и без оглядки на какие бы то ни было обстоятельства. Жаль, больше не видно статей этого автора.
