Reconstruction in the Kremlin to surpass all the projects ever coordinated with UNESCO Moscow, August 18, 2014 Reconstruction of the monastery on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin will considerably surpass all other projects that were coordinated with UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), reported Russia’s permanent representative at the organization Eleonora Mitrofanova. Earlier president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin proposed to restore within the Moscow Kremlin two monasteries and one church that until 1930 had been situated on the site of the building 14 of the Kremlin. According to him, such a plan can be implemented only after approval by the public and by UNESCO, reports the Kommersant newspaper with the reference to RIA-Novosti . “The proposed project, which, according to the Russian president Putin, is still ‘just an idea, a proposal’, is a large-scale one and it considerably surpasses the actions that were coordinated with UNESCO before. And the organization’s requirements are very, very strict,” said Mrs. Mitrofanova. At the same time, she insists that we must not disregard “the deep symbolism of the proposed project for our country, which is standing in the new phase of its historical development, its perception of the world”. “Hence, the degree of responsibility for the final decision regarding the beginning of the reconstruction on the territory, I would say, of the central Russian cultural and historical monument is of major state importance,” Eleonora Mitrofanova added. She earlier informed that Russia was to prepare a detailed experts’ report on the influence that the future construction would have on the universal value of the Kremlin. “Outstanding universal value” is the main criterion which is taken into account at the inclusion of one or another object into the UNESCO World Heritage list. The decision of UNESCO will depend on substantiation of these works, the permanent representative then stated.

Зато если прогнать этот текст через обратный перевод, получится следующая, целиком и полностью соответствующая английскому языку фраза: «What you will see now isPutin " s innermost dream. He spent 20 years of his presidency building it». Смотрим: «There is one place where you can understand everything about Vladimir Putin. This is the most protected place in Russia, in fact a state within a state, and this is Putin " s biggest secret. Which is protected by hundreds, even thousands of people – from unknown guards, gardeners and builders».

Analyst: protection of Syrian Christians raises Putin’s ratings in Europe Moscow, March 29, 2017 Photo: RIA-Novosti      President Vladimir Putin’s approval ratings in Italy and in other Western European countries have grown lately, which likely reflects Europeans’ reactions to Russia’s protection of the Syrian Christian population, said Andrea Gianotti, the director of the Italian Institute of Eurasian Studies. Gianotti participated in the thirteenth international conference of the Foundation for the Unity of Orthodox Peoples, entitled “Values and Interests in a Changing World: a Christian Approach,” in Germany from March 27 to March 30. The Italian expert noted that Western European governments have still not taken any steps to protect those suffering under the oppressive Islamic regime of ISIS in Iraq, Syria, and Libya, and have even in fact offered military support to the terrorists, who aim “to destroy every Christian trace in the specified territories.” “By all appearances, the activity of the armed forces of the Russian Federation is the only concrete operation in protection of the Christian population of Syria and Iraq, although indirectly. The convergence of the strategic interests of the Kremlin with the interests of global security and the protection of Christians is quite obvious. Therefore, President Putin has become one of the most popular people in Italy and in other Western countries,” Gianotti stated. “This political line should be a stimulus for many European leaders to establish close and honest cooperation with Russia against the challenges and threats towards Christianity, starting with the current ‘holocaust’ in the Middle East. This is a tragic ordeal,” the analyst affirmed. The armed confrontation has been ongoing in Syria since March 2011. According to the UN, more than 220,000 people have been killed. Russia has been carrying out airstrikes on terrorist targets in Syria since September 30, 2015, by the request of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. With Russia’s help, Damascus has been able to turn the tide and go on the defensive in many key areas. In March 2016, President Putin decided to withdraw most Russian troops, although Russia is still supporting Syrian with weapons, military equipment, and military training. 29 марта 2017 г. Russian Orthodox Church, Politicians Criticize Pro-Gay Eurovision Cross-Dressing Winner/Православие.Ru Russian Orthodox Church, Politicians Criticize Pro-Gay Eurovision Cross-Dressing Winner Moscow, May 15. 2014 Conchita Wurst, representing Austria, reacts after qualifying in May 2014 " s Eurovision contest in Copenhagen. The Russian Orthodox Church and several politicians have strongly condemned last week " s Eurovision winner, a bearded Austrian cross-dresser who promotes gay rights, and have suggested that they will create their own pop competition. " The last Eurovision contest " s results exhausted our patience, " Communist Party deputy Valery Rashkin said about the winner of Europe " s top pop competition, 25-year-old Conchita Wurst. " We must leave this competition. We cannot tolerate this endless madness. " He added that he would like to see the creation of " Voice of Eurasia, " which would invite other countries from the former Soviet Union to participate, according to AFP news agency. A spokesman for the Russian Orthodox Church has also made strong remarks against Wurst. " The process of the legalization of that to which the Bible refers to as nothing less than an abomination is already long not news in the contemporary world, " Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church " s information department, said according Interfax news agency. " Unfortunately, the legal and cultural spheres are moving in a parallel direction, to which the results of this competition bear witness. " Wurst, whose real name is Tom Neuwirth, has spoken out in favor of gay rights, and after being awarded the glass trophy last week said: " This night is dedicated to everyone who believes in peace and freedom. You know who you are. We are unity, and we are unstoppable. " The singer also reportedly later addressed the same message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who last year signed controversial bills in Russia prohibiting the promotion and distribution of pro-gay material.

Russia introduces restrictions on adoption of children to countries with same-sex " marriages " Moscow, February 13, 2014 The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree introducing a ban on adoption of children from Russia by same-sex couples from other countries, reports Interfax. According to the document, " adults of both sexes, with the exception of individuals who are married to individuals of the same sex whose civil unions are recognized as marriages and registered in accordance with the legislation of a state where these marriages are legalized, as well as individuals who are citizens of the mentioned state but are not married, can be adopters " . In the view of the initiative " s authors, the decree will further develop the procedure of sending children " who are without parental care, to be raised by citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens, and ensure the protection of these children’s rights and interests. " Furthermore, the period of preparation and issue of a decision on whether or not a petitioner may adopt has been shortened from 15 days to 20 days. According to the new regulations, those wishing to adopt a child are no longer obligated to show a certificate of compliance of their living space with the sanitary and technical codes. On July 3 last year, Vladimir Putin signed a federal law banning adoption of orphans by same-sex couples. This measure is aimed at guaranteeing a harmonious and adequate upbringing of children in foster families, and guarding their state of mind and consciousness against such possible undesirable influences as the " unnatural imposition of non-traditional sexual behavior, and the development of complexes, mental suffering, and stress, which, according to psychologists " research, is often experienced by children brought up by same-sex parents. " The church has approved the introduced ban. " The decision to protect Russian children from such experiments is the choice of our state and our society. They have the right to make this choice, and are not under a diktat from anybody, " said Vladimir Legoida, head of the Synodal Information Department. In his view, the complex changes in the Russian Federation " s legislation, aimed at promoting children’s rights, " Are the result of a necessity that has been long been ripe. " 17 февраля 2014 г. First and foremost, the Patriarch resonates with the very widespread fear of a revolution – something that Russians have every right to fear after some four revolutions in the 20th century that shattered tens of millions of lives and destroyed the country at least twice. It is this feeling that keeps many Russians, especially those who remember the early 1990s well, from participating in the protest rallies and which generates distrust of some opposition figures among those who do go to the rallies. But he also cannot but take into account the movement that emerged in some quarters of the Church during and after the Duma elections, which were marred by allegations of massive fraud. Despite the strong tradition of siding with the state, there was a series of articles by active and authoritative priests, mainly on the most popular independent Orthodox Christian news and commentary website Orthodoxy in the World (Православие и мир) www.pravmir.ru One of its regular authors, Priest Dmitry Sverdlov, became an election monitor – a function he carried out wearing his cassock, in and of itself a bold move. And later he described, in great detail and with literary talent, the manipulations with the bulletins and protocols that resulted in a United Russia victory. Another priest, Theodore Lyudogovsky, wrote an opinion piece deeming the elections Pharisaica. A major discussion among Orthodox Christians broke out in blogs and social networks – some declared being ashamed of Vladimir Churov – the head of the Central Electoral Commission known as an Orthodox layman. Others questioned whether it is good for Orthodox Christians to go to the mass rallies (“Why does nobody ask whether Orthodox Christians should go to the bakery? The Constitution is for everybody!” – commented a very prominent Moscow priest Dmitry Smirnov). There were others yet, who raised hell about the “Orange threat” (a reference to the post-electoral uproar in Ukraine in 2004) which can undermine the authority of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin which, to them, is inseparable from Russia as a country and the interests of the Russian state, in turn, are inseparable of those of the Russian Orthodox Church. But it was not them who made the difference.

Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center opens up in Paris      The Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural center in Paris held its inaugural opening on Wednesday. The center, which was under construction since 2014, was built on the Branly embankment, in the historic center of the French capital. The opening was attended by Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, as well as Russia’s Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky and representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate. " The construction of this unique facility is an evident testimony to the strength of cultural and humanitarian relations between France and Russia, evidence of the mutual intention of our countries to continue a constructive dialogue, " said Russian President Vladimir Putin in a statement read by Medinsky. " The process of receiving permission for the project was not easy, but the continued support of the French government helped the completion of all of the work on schedule. " Medinsky said that " the center will open its doors to anyone who is interested in the history of our country, our scientific and cultural accomplishments, for those who want to learn Russian. And the Holy Trinity Cathedral will without a doubt play an important role for the [Russian] Orthodox people in Paris. " The complex consists of a French-Russian elementary school, a bookstore, a cultural center, exhibition facilities, a coffee shop, and the highlight - the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Tweet Нравится Syrian Christians grateful to Russia, invite Patriarch Kirill Moscow, February 7, 2017 Photo: money.cnn.com      Addressing a delegation of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship Between Russia and Syria visiting the Saidnaya Mother of God Orthodox Monastery, Abbess Fevronia thanked Russia for its assistance in resolving the Syrian conflict. She also noted that the sisterhood prays for Russia and for the health of Russian president Vladimir Putin, reports Interfax-Religion . Around 450,000 Christians from various denominations have fled Syria to date, Patriarch Gregory III of the Syrian Melkite Catholic Church told the parliamentarians. Answering the abbess’ invitation extended to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Igumen Arseny (Sokolov), the Russian Church’s representative to the Antiochian Patriarchate, said, “Patriarch Kirill has been in these places as a pilgrim and is now anticipating the opportunity to again visit these places.” Fr. Arseny also passed the patriarch’s greetings to Abbess Fevronia and presented gifts. The monastery in Saidnaya is one of the oldest in the world, attracting large numbers of pilgrims. The habitation was repeatedly bombed during armed conflict, but “by the grace of God there were no causalities,” as the abbess noted. She also mentioned some occasions where missiles even hit the buildings of the monastery but did not explode. “The monastery is under the patronage of the Mother of God. We even have testimonies from soldiers who were posted in the mountains around the monastery who saw the holy Virgin Mary, and saw how she protects our city and our monastery,” Mother said. 7 февраля 2017 г.
