Archive His Holiness Patriarch Kirill celebrates Paschal Great Vespers at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour 8 April 2018 year 23:25 On 8 April 2018, the Feast of the Radiant Resurrection of Christ, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated Paschal Great Vespers at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow. Concelebrating with His Holiness was an assembly of hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches to the Moscow Patriarchal Throne, and abbots of the stavropegic monasteries. Praying at the service were hegumenesses of convents, deans of the Moscow church districts and rectors of Moscow churches, clerics of Moscow and the Moscow region, members of the Moscow parish councils, staff members of the Synodal departments, representatives of the Orthodox youth organizations, and many pilgrims and parishioners. By tradition, used during Great Vespers was the old Gospel Book that dates back to the time of the Empress Yelizaveta Petrovna. It was bequeathed by the late Metropolitan Pitirim (Nechayev) and transferred from the Monastery of St Joseph of Volokolamsk to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. With the blessing of the late Patriarch Alexy II, this Gospel Book is brought from the sanctuary only twice a year, during Great Vespers on the feast days of the Nativity of Christ and of Pascha. After the Paschal Vespers, Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna greeted His Holiness Patriarch Kirill on behalf of the Holy Synod, worshippers and the plenitude of the Russian Orthodox Church, saying in particular: “For two thousand years lies and slander have been spread about the Nativity and Resurrection of Christ. However, nowadays I, deeply touched, want to say that with your blessing the preaching of the Risen Lord reaches even small children. Yesterday I heard a moving story about a child who had returned home after a meeting with a priest and said to his parents, “Mom and dad, do not take offense, I love you, love you very much, but I love the Lord more.” “This, Your Holiness, is the result of the missionary preaching activitites entrusted by you not only to clergymen, but also to educators. Your Holiness, allow us to wish you God’s abundant help in your Primatial ministry. And may the faith of Christ flourish and never die down in our homeland.” Greeting His Holiness Patriarch Kirill were also representatives of the Orthodox youth organizations, hierarchs, representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches, clerics and laypeople. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church delivered a Primatial homily and blessed the worshippers. After the service, a concert took place near the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, organized by the Moscow Orthodox youth. Patriarchal Press Service Календарь ← 7 December 2023 year

Presentation of Italian Edition of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill " s Book " A Pator " s Word " Takes Place in Vatican Source: DECR Communication Service September 19, 2015      On September 18, 2015, the presentation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s book “A Pastor’s Word. God and Man. History of Salvation” took place at the German College in the Vatican. The book was published in the Italian language by Accademia “Sapientia et Scientia” in collaboration with the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Vatican Publishing House. Presenting the book at the ceremony were Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk , chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, and Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. As Metropolitan Hilarion noted in his speech, the book “A Pastor’s Word. God and Man. History of Salvation” is a collection of talks given by Metropolitan Kirill (now Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia) within the framework of his programme on Russian TV. “This book enables a reader to hear the voice of a pastor, for whom his service to Christ and His Church is of utmost importance,” the hierarch said, “In these talks we often hear the voice of Christ Himself, since many programmes were filmed in the Holy Land.” The DECR chairman expressed his certainty that the book would find a lively response among the Italian readers, since, initially intended for the Russian audience, it speaks about eternal and universal truths in plain modern language. “Everyone will feel, with what love and care His Holiness addresses our contemporaries,” Metropolitan Hilarion continued. To conclude his speech, the DECR chairman expressed his hope that the presentation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s book in the Vatican would promote dialogue and mutual understanding between the Eastern and the Western Christian traditions. In his address, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller emphasized the importance of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s book for today’s European society. As Cardinal Müller noted, His Holiness’ most significant thought is that love alone can restore unity between Christians. Among those who also spoke at the ceremony were Prof. Giuseppina Cardillo Azzaro , President of the Accademia “Sapientia et Scientia” ; Mr. Vadim Razumovsky, Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Vatican; and Prof. Lorenzo Ornaghi, Rector Emeritus of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. 22 сентября 2015 г. Archive Patriarch Kirill: It was a talk of Primates aware of their responsibility for the state of Universal Orthodoxy 31 August 2018 year 14:29 August 31, 2018 – His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia have met at the Throne Hall of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in the Phanar quarter in Istanbul.  Participating in the meeting were Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, DECR vice-chairman, and members of the Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Before the departure for Moscow from the Istanbul airport, Patriarch Kirill answered questions from journalists. According to His Holiness, for the past two years since the previous meeting of the two Primates, ‘much has happened in the life of our Church, and the whole situation in the world has greatly changed’. Having described the dialogue that took place between them as ‘a talk between two brothers’, Patriarch Kirill stated that they discussed ‘all the problems on the agenda’. ‘I hope we will continue working together so that the world may become better’, he added. ‘Without coordination with His Holiness, I would not like to let you into details, although there was nothing secret, nothing that would make one’s conciseness explode’, Patriarch Kirill specified, ‘It was a very correct talk – a talk between the heads of two Churches who are aware of their responsibility of the state of Universal Orthodoxy and for the state of human souls in places and countries under our responsibility’. Speaking about a continuation of pan-Orthodox dialogue, His Holiness underscored that ‘problems keep emerging, challenging Churches from the pastoral point of view. The world is changing rapidly, and no Church can make decisions that would run contrary to the position of another Orthodox Church’. ‘Therefore, we are simply programmed for interaction and cooperation, and since the world is rapidly changing, this cooperation, too, should be dynamic enough’, His Holiness concluded. Archive Message from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to the Primate of the Ethiopian Church on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his enthronement 3 March 2023 year 10:00 His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus " congratulated His Holiness Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia on the tenth anniversary of his enthronement. HIS HOLINESS ABUNE MATHIAS, PATRIARCH OF ETHIOPIA Your Holiness, Beloved Brother in Christ, Please accept my cordial greetings on the tenth anniversary of your accession to the Throne of Patriarchs of Ethiopia. As a worthy continuator of your predecessors’ labours, you work selflessly for the good of the people entrusted to you. Millions of Ethiopian Christians have found in you a good shepherd who with all his heart shares their joys and afflictions and is ready, in accordance with the Gospel, to lay down his life for his friends (Jn 15:13). The Lord Almighty has ordained that you steer the church ship in the trying times for Christians in Ethiopia facing many sorrows and ordeals. But the righteousness of God has been manifested (Rom 3:21) and now we state with gratitude that the Lord keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him (Dt 7:9). The years of your Primatial ministry have been marked by the rise of faith in the country, by the reunification of the Ethiopian Church in 2018 and by overcoming new divisions in these latter days. I am glad that today the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Moscow Patriarchate continue their active high-level cooperation, as was yet again confirmed by the meeting of the Commission for Bilateral Dialogue held in Moscow on February 11-16, 2023. It is my sincere hope that this trust-based cooperation will make further progress and bear good fruit. May Christ the Chief Shepherd preserve Your Holiness in health and longevity and grant peace and welfare to the people of Ethiopia. With brotherly love in the Lord,  +KIRILL PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA Календарь ← 7 December 2023 year

Archive Archbishop Theodosios of Sebastia: We perceive the provocations against the Patriarch of the Russian Church as provocations against the entire Orthodox Church 21 June 2022 year 10:02 On June 18, 2022,  Archbishop Theodosios of Sebastia, a hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, received in audience a group of British journalists - representatives of various news agencies. In the talk with them, His Eminence Theodosios stated in particular: “We are categorically against of all kinds of provocations carried out by some Western forces against His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. We cannot silently see such attacks, which we consider to be illegal, inappropriate actions against a religious person of a high standard, who is a true spiritual symbol of modern Orthodoxy. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill does not participate in any political conflict. He, as a man of peace, is always in favour of dialogue. We as a part of the Orthodox Church, proceeding from our moral and religious convictions, reject as well all kinds of wars, every manifestation of violence in any region of the world. The accusations against Patriarch Kirill are false and unfounded. I would like to emphasize again that His Holiness always called on all sides to reconcile, to renounce wars and violence. Today we call upon those who engage in incitement in the West against Patriarch Kirill to abandon their aggressive attitude not only against His Holiness but also against the entire Orthodox Church. We express prayerful support for the Russian Orthodox Church and her Primate, Patriarch Kirill. We ask God for an end of the war in Ukraine, for a possibility for settling all the political differences through dialogue and adoption of well-considered decisions. The provocations against the head of the Russian Orthodox Church are perceived by us as hostile actions on the part of the West against the entire Orthodox Church. Once again, I would like to express the feeling of profound solidarity with the Russian Church and the certainty that these accusations, which are unfounded, will not affect the life of the Russian Orthodox Church, its head, clergy, and faithful. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill is the Primate for more than 100 million believers, not only from Russia and Ukraine, but also from many other countries of the world. Coming from his lips were always sermons about love, peace, and mercy, as well as calls for reconciliation of all parties to the conflict, but also a rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism”. Franklin Graham Meets with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk October 29, 2015      Son of legendary American evangelist Billy Graham , Franklin Graham, head of the Samaritan’s Purse charity organization, is in Moscow this week and has met with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk. According to Interfax-Religion , during the meeting with His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill spoke of the ever-declining moral values in western societies, noting that they have become secondary in such societies, made up as they are of migrants of various religions. " Radical changes in spiritual life have occurred in the West in the past few years. Western countries have stopped identifying themselves with the Christian tradition. On the basis of the fact that not only Christians now live in the West, they have gone to the idea of society in which Christian moral values should not dominate, " the patriarch noted. Expressing concern over laws that equate gay marriage with that ordained and blessed by the Lord, he stated: " People who disagree with these laws are even subjected to repression. And the Christians who defend the eternal significance of Christian moral values are subjected to all kinds of pressure, primarily information.” On the meeting, Graham wrote on his Facebook page: This week I am in Moscow, and it was a great privilege to meet with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church today. We discussed the persecution of the church worldwide, especially in countries like Syria, and the need to protect Christians. We discussed the refugee crisis and how the church can help these people who are fleeing for their lives. And we talked about the need to reach a younger generation brought up in secular schools surrounded by a secular culture who know nothing of God and His love for them. I appreciate Patriarch Kirill’s very clear moral voice on issues of marriage, family, and the sanctity of life. On Graham’s meeting with Metropolitan Hilarion at the rectory of the “Joy of All Who Sorrow” parish, the DECR Communication Service reports that they amicably discussed the possibility of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association on issues such as defense of traditional morality and humanitarian aid. His Eminence also previously met with Billy Graham during a visit to America.      29 октября 2015 г. Смотри также Комментарии Мы в соцсетях Подпишитесь на нашу рассылку
