Tweet Нравится Holy Fire to come to Russia at Pascha Moscow, January 31, 2017 Photo: http://media1.s-nbcnews.com/      By the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, the Holy Fire will be brought from Jerusalem to Moscow at Pascha again this year, the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation reported to RIA-Novosti . The Holy Fire is a miracle occurring every year on Holy Saturday in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, when the Orthodox patriarch of Jerusalem enters the tomb of the Lord. After a period of praying, the miraculous fire descends from Heaven and lights the patriarch’s candles before rushing throughout the church. Since 2003 the Holy Fire has then been taken to various countries as part of the St. Andrew’s Foundation’s “ Pray for Peace for Jerusalem ” program, in which Orthodox believers from Russia, Israel, Serbia, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, the USA, and other nations have joined the foundation’s delegates and the patriarch of Jerusalem to pray for peace in the Holy City. The Holy Fire is traditionally brought to the Paschal service at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow and from there throughout Russia. In 2015 the fire was taken to fifty-three Russian and eleven international cities. Patriarch Theophilos again blessed the “Pray for Peace for Jerusalem” program for this year, noting that he expects the reconstruction work being carried out on the edicule over the Lord’s tomb to be done two weeks before the celebration of Pascha, which falls on April 16 this year. A Litany was said for the repose of the soul of the recently deceased Patriarch Maxim of Bulgaria. After the Liturgy, Patriarch Theophilos addressed all those present, saying in particular: This common celebration of the Divine Liturgy by the two Patriarchs gives us perfect joy in this world. This celebration is a confirmation and pledge of our hope for drinking the new vine “in My Father’s kingdom” (Mt 26:29). His Holiness Patriarch Kirill thanked His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos and said: “…The Russian Orthodox Church owes much to the Holy City. From the earliest times numerous Russian pilgrims have been coming here, to the Holy Sepulchre, to the Holy Jerusalem. It was from you that we have received our liturgical order, and liturgical life of the Russian Church has been carried out according to the rules of St Sabbas the Sanctified and of other holy zealots the of ancient Palestinian monasteries. This Church of the Holy Resurrection, in which we have celebrated the Divine Liturgy today, has always been one of the most venerated Churches in Russia… As the Primate of the Russian Church, I am grateful for this opportunity to venerate the shrines of Jerusalem. I thank you, Your Beatitude, for the invitation, for our joint brotherly prayer, and for your warm hospitality… I prayerfully wish Your Beatitude that God may strengthen you in your primatial ministry, and I wish that God may grant His abundant grace and His spiritual gifts to the flock of the Church of Jerusalem.” His Holiness Patriarch Kirill concluded his address with the Paschal greeting “Christ is Risen!” mospat.ru Ru.      On Sunday, the 9th/22nd of November 2015, the feast day of St. Nektarios the wonder-worker and Archbishop of Pentapolis, the Patriarchate celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Enthronement of His Beatitude Theophilos, Patriarch of Jerusalem. On the occasion of this fortunate event a Doxology was celebrated at the katholikon of the All-holy Church of the Resurrection, led by His Beatitude. Co-officiating were Hagiotaphite Primates and Hieromonks, members of the Arabic-speaking flock, and pilgrims, in the presence of Mr Georgios Zacharoudiakis, the Greek Consul-General to Jerusalem. At the conclusion of the Doxology, the concelebrants returned to the Patriarchate where His Eminence Aristarchos, Archbishop of Constantina, addressed the Patriarch on behalf of the Holy and Sacred Synod. In his speech Archbishop Aristarchos spoke of the work performed by the Patriarch since His enthronement, work that is worthy of His predecessors, the late Patriarchs of Jerusalem. Special reference was made to the Patriarch’s particular sensitivity towards the safekeeping and maintenance of the holy shrines which recently led to the structural enhancement of the Aedicula of the Holy Sepulcher by a group of specialized professors from Athens Polytechnic and restoration works on the roof of the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Archbishop Aristarchos also remarked on how the Patriarchate utilizes its property for the benefit of Christians in the Holy Land, i.e. building settlements in Bethlehem and Beit-Jala, and of the harmonious relations it maintains with its sister Orthodox Churches. The Greek Consul-General then took the floor in order to express Greece’s appreciation, recognition and respect for the religious and national work performed by the Patriarch, conveying the warmest wishes for success in the historical mission he has undertaken. “For Greece”, Mr Zacharoudiakis said, “the protection of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and its historical rights is a priority. This holy Institution symbolizes our diachronic presence in the Holy Land as well as our traditionally friendly and constructive relations and our collaboration in the region, putting into practice the spirit of the ecumenical values of Hellenism.” Representatives of the Patriarchates of Russia and Romania then addressed the Patriarch, as well as members of the flock. His Beatitude spoke last, saying that He has been called upon to prove himself worthy of His Hagiotaphite mission, “clothed” according to the Apostle Paul, with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with each other … and over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity [Col. 2, 12-13]. After those present paid their respects to the Patriarch, Hagiotaphites and guests were hosted to a festive lunch. Jerusalem Patriarchate 24 ноября 2015 г. Archive Archpriest Nikolai Balashov: The Moscow Patriarchate supports the aim of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem to ensure a conciliar discussion of the problems that have arisen within the worldwide Orthodox family 2 October 2023 year 18:51 Advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus " Archpriest Nikolai Balashov commented upon the recent initiatives by His Beatitude the Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine Theophilos III, who expressed his willingness to ensure peace in Ukraine and a conciliar discussion of the problems which exist within worldwide Orthodoxy. Several days ago, in Rome, Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos declared that the Church of Jerusalem was willing to act as mediator in overcoming the military conflict in Ukraine and in obtaining peace by means of negotiations, as well as wishing to continue dialogue aimed at averting “the danger of schism within the body of the Orthodox Church.” The Patriarch stated that he intended to do everything within his power to “heal the relationships within the Orthodox family.” The Russian Orthodox Church welcomes any mediatory efforts aimed at developing dialogue and the establishing of a just peace in Ukraine. It is with the greatest respect that we treat the initiatives coming from the Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem, the Primate of the most ancient of Churches which is the Mother of all the Christian Churches. The Moscow Patriarchate also supports the aim of the Church of Jerusalem in enabling a conciliar discussion of the problems which have arisen within the worldwide Orthodox family. A key role in ensuring this discussion has many times been played by Jerusalem. We recall too the Amman meeting of the Primates and representatives of a number of the local Orthodox Churches which took place at the initiative of Patriarch Theophilus in 2020. It was a vital step in the sphere of inter-Orthodox communication, and this step must find its continuation. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of dialogue between the Churches, even if this dialogue is fraught with many difficulties in bringing it to fruition, while the Primates of some of the Churches have already beforehand declared that they in principle refuse to discuss the decisions made. We value highly the labours of the Patriarch of Jerusalem in the cause of preserving, protecting and strengthening the Christian presence in the Holy Land and the Middle East in general. The Russian Orthodox Church will henceforth in whatever way possible support these courageous endeavours, which have evoked a deep response in the hearts of our compatriots, who with love and reverence honour the Holy Sepulchre and other common Christian holy sites, the guardian of which is the Patriarch of Jerusalem. Russian Palestine is a marvelous spiritual and historical phenomenon, headed by the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem founded in 1847. Through the care, energy, and labors of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian government in the latter half of the nineteenth century to the early twentieth century, a whole cluster of holy sites connected with significant events in sacred history where acquired for Russian pilgrims, many churches, pilgrimage guesthouses, and metochia were built, and several monasteries were founded. Russian Palestine represents vast enlightenment, scholarly research, and charitable activity. Its golden age could be considered those thirty years (1865–1894) when the head of the Russian spiritual mission was Archimandrite Antonin (Kapustin). Despite its perennial lack of money, many hardships and obstacles, he was able to acquire a large amount of land, the value of which cannot be measured in the material terms: a parcel in Hebron with the Oak of Mamre, under which the patriarch Abraham received the three mysterious Visitors; a parcel on the Mount of Olives, not far from the site of the Lord’s ascension; land in the settlement of Ein-Karem—the place where the Most Holy Theotokos and righteous Elizabeth met; parcels in biblical Jericho and in Haifa (Joppa) with the tomb of righteous Tabitha, who was resurrected by the holy apostle Peter, and others. Thanks to the scholarly work of Archimandrite Antonin in ecclesiastical archeology, near the church of the Lord’s Sepulcher was discovered the threshold to the Judgment gates, through which our Savior’s way of the cross passed, and an ancient necropolis in Haifa. The Russian presence in the Holy Land became possible also thanks to the charity of Orthodox Russian people—from 1886 on, every year on the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem, Palm Sunday, donations for the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem were collected in every diocese and church in Russia. Russian Palestine was created and supported by the whole world, however it suffered great losses, and became forgotten and desolate after the Bolshevik revolution. That in our days the monasteries, metochia, and pilgrimage guesthouses of the Russian Mission in the Holy Land are again able to receive the thousands of pilgrims who come every year is the result of peoples’ enormous labor, faith, hope, and sacrificial love.   23 октября 2017 г. скрыть способы оплаты скрыть способы оплаты Комментарии Подпишитесь на рассылку Православие.Ru Рассылка выходит два раза в неделю: Мы в соцсетях Подпишитесь на нашу рассылку

С археологической точки зрения книга является неудовлетворительной. В ней даже не затрагиваются вопросы стилистического развития романской церковной архитектуры на примере ротонды или церкви крестоносцев. Однако никто, изучающий это величайшее здание, не может обойтись без этих книг. Corbo V. Il Santo Sepolcro di Gerusalemme, Aspetti arceologici dalle origini al periodo crociato. Parts I-III. - Jerusalem: Franciscan Printing Press, 1981-1982. В 1960 г. Conrad Schick. Notes from Jerusalem. - Palestine Exploration Fund Quarterly Statement, 1887. - S. 156-170. Nancy Miller. Patriarchal Burial Site Explored for First Time in 700 Years. BAR 11:03.
