His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s Condolences Over Mass Killing Of Christians In Libya His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent condolences to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and His Holiness Patriarch Tawadros II over the murder of over twenty Coptic Christians in Libya.      His Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi President Arab Republic of Egypt Your Excellency, dear Mr. President, Please, accept my deep condolences over the atrocious murder of Coptic Christians, Egyptian citizens, in Libya. The crime committed by extremists deserves everyone’s condemnation. Radicals’ attempts to justify violence by religious motives provoke utter rejection. Following the path of terror, these devil’s servants try to disrupt the balance, maintained for centuries, of good neighborly relations between Christians and Muslims in the Middle East. I am convinced that the tragedy that has befallen the Egyptian people will leave nobody indifferent. A priority task of the whole world community today is to combine the efforts to oppose the inhuman ideology and give a resolute rebuff to this evil. Terrorism has no future, because people will never put up with violence, no matter what slogans it might use as a cover. I offer my condolences to the relatives and friends of those killed, I prayerfully empathize with all Egyptian people and wish them fortitude and spiritual strength in opposing extremism and terrorism. With respect and condolences, +KIRILL PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA His Holiness Theodoros II Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St Mark in All Africa and the Middle East Your Holiness, With deep pain in my heart I have learnt about the terrible murder of over twenty Christians of your flock in Libya. No goal can justify this horrible crime. Using religious rhetoric as a cover, extremists commit atrocities unprecedented in their cruelty, seeking to sow panic in people’s hearts and to bring a split into the good relations between Christians and Muslims, which prevailed in the Middle East for centuries. It is my conviction that it is especially important today for the whole world community to unite and undertake most resolute actions to oppose extremism and terrorism. We as Christians should together bear witness to the Risen Lord Jesus Who has conquered evil and death. Then futile will be all attempts of those who serve the devil using the holy name of God to justify their criminal actions. In this grave hour, I stand in prayer with the Egyptian people. My sincere condolences go to your Holiness, the clergy and flock of the Coptic Church, and the relatives and love ones of those who were killed. May the Lord give rest to the souls of the deceased in the dwellings of the righteous. With love in Christ, + KIRILL PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA 20 февраля 2015 г. Archive Message from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to the Primate of the Ethiopian Church on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his enthronement 3 March 2023 year 10:00 His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus " congratulated His Holiness Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia on the tenth anniversary of his enthronement. HIS HOLINESS ABUNE MATHIAS, PATRIARCH OF ETHIOPIA Your Holiness, Beloved Brother in Christ, Please accept my cordial greetings on the tenth anniversary of your accession to the Throne of Patriarchs of Ethiopia. As a worthy continuator of your predecessors’ labours, you work selflessly for the good of the people entrusted to you. Millions of Ethiopian Christians have found in you a good shepherd who with all his heart shares their joys and afflictions and is ready, in accordance with the Gospel, to lay down his life for his friends (Jn 15:13). The Lord Almighty has ordained that you steer the church ship in the trying times for Christians in Ethiopia facing many sorrows and ordeals. But the righteousness of God has been manifested (Rom 3:21) and now we state with gratitude that the Lord keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him (Dt 7:9). The years of your Primatial ministry have been marked by the rise of faith in the country, by the reunification of the Ethiopian Church in 2018 and by overcoming new divisions in these latter days. I am glad that today the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Moscow Patriarchate continue their active high-level cooperation, as was yet again confirmed by the meeting of the Commission for Bilateral Dialogue held in Moscow on February 11-16, 2023. It is my sincere hope that this trust-based cooperation will make further progress and bear good fruit. May Christ the Chief Shepherd preserve Your Holiness in health and longevity and grant peace and welfare to the people of Ethiopia. With brotherly love in the Lord,  +KIRILL PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA Календарь ← 7 December 2023 year

Interesting note: in American Orthodoxy, we use the Menaia published by Sophia Press, a Byzantine Catholic publisher (we surmise because the Orthodox either cannot or will not spend monies to publish these readings)! Their bias is all too clear inserted into the Vesper and Matins Irmoi: the two brothers corrected the error of the Moslems (!!) - nowhere mentioned is the problem with the " german " Latin Bishops who imprisoned and tortured St Methodios! We celebrate the two Sts Kyril and Methodios as our patrons in our own outreach to those in the Latin-western errors who live among us and name the name of the Lord Jesus Christ while knowing so little about Him! In Christ Jesus, in the glory of His sending of the All-Holy Spirit at Pentecost!! Archive The Russian Orthodox Church helps the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to build a church 2 March 2021 year 11:52 On February 28, 2021, with a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Alexander (Yelisov) accompanied by his deputy Hieromonk Dometian (Markarian), made a visit to Israel’s Northern District. During his trip Father Alexander visited the city of Sakhnin where, with a blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, a church is being built for the local Christian population historically confessing Orthodoxy. The northern cities and settlements in Israel are special in that the Christian population there is indigenous, as they have preserved faithfulness to their religious beliefs for many centuries in spite of multiple political changes. This is why the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem shows special concern for the pastoral care of this region. The church under construction is planned by Patriarch Theophilos to become a spiritual pillar for all the local Orthodox Christians so that they could feel the support of the Mother Church in their historical home. Sharing the concern of the Church of Jerusalem, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill has made his own contribution to the church under construction and gifted it a carved communion table for the main altar dedicated to the Nativity of the Mother of God, as well as two communion tables for the church’s side-altars. The communion tables were produced by the workshops of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus. Archimandrite Alexander met with the warden of the church under construction, Dr M. Gantus and representatives of the parish community who were inspired by the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church in their work. The parish council persistently asked the head of the Mission to convey words of gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill noting that his good gesture will stay in the memory of the present and future generations of local Christians. Before the meeting began, Archimandrite Alexander and his party visited the Magdala representation of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in which they celebrated the Sunday Divine Liturgy at the church of St Mary Magdalene Equal-to-the-Apostles.
