Фото www.oca.org / Собратья архипастыри, досточтимые отцы, всечестные монашествующие и возлюбленные верные Православной Церкви в Америке: Христос рождается! - Славите! В праздновании Рождества Христова в этом году, мы, православные христиане, приближаясь к этому дивному воспоминанию, резко отличаемся от всего, что есть в мире. Трагическим фактом является для многих наших современников жизнь без Бога - в личных ли убеждениях, или повседневной деятельности. Для иных, их " вера " - это вера в то, что Бог резко вторгается в человеческую историю или в их частную жизнь - как несколько лет назад пелось в популярной песне " Бог наблюдает за нами ... с расстояния. " Но, для православных христиан, Писание утверждает, что Боговоплощение отчетливо провозглашает нам: " Дева во чреве приимет и родит Сына, и нарекут имя Ему Еммануил, что значит: с нами Бог " (Мф. 1:23). И песнотоворцы вторят этому воззванию в этот праздник: " С нами Бог! Разумейте языцы и покаряйтесь, яко с нами Бог! " Не " наблюдает с расстояния " , но с нами -вокруг нас, рядом с нами, и в значительной мере мы сами желаем Его присутствия в нас, столь близкого, как дыхание в нашей груди или биение нашего сердца. Для большинства людей сегодня день рождения красивого, невинного и привлекательного мальчика, который будет расти и совершит много доброго, более чем все другие - слепые будут видеть, глухие слышать, хромые ходить и мертвые восстанут. Для иных, он даже отдал свою жизнь на кресте за грехи людей, чтобы дать им возможность спасения. Но для нас, этот праздник означает пришествие во плоти никого иного как Самого Бога. Иисус Христос не просто человек; Он Второе Лицо Святой Троицы, Сын Божий, Бог Мира: " И Слово стало плотию, и обитало с нами, полное благодати и истины; и мы видели славу Его, славу, как Единородного от Отца " . | Archive Primate of Orthodox Church in America visits Donskoy Monastery in Moscow 9 December 2019 year 20:05 On 9 th December 2019, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, visited the Donskoy Stavropegic Monastery in Moscow. The delegation led by His Beatitude included Archbishop David of Sitka and Alaska; Archimandrite Andrei (Hoarte), bishop-elect of Cleveland, auxiliary to the archbishop of the OCA Romanian Episcopate; Archpriest Alexander Rentel, chancellor of the OCA; Archpriest Daniel Andrejuk, rector of the OCA Representation in Moscow; Protodeacon Joseph Matusiak, secretary to the OCA Primate; and Protopresbyter Daniel Hubiak, first rector of the OCA Representation in Moscow. The delegation was accompanied by Bishop Kliment of Krasnoslobodsk and Temnikov and Mr. Dmitry Petrovsky, staff member of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations. His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon and the delegation members venerated the holy relics of St. Tikhon the Patriarch of All Russia – the heavenly patron of the OCA Primate. Greeting His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon and those accompanying him, Bishop Foma of Bronnitsy, abbot of the monastery, said in particular: “Today we welcome you not as guests, but as our brothers who at some point in the past had left to deal with very important matters, but now have returned to the holy abode, dear to them, in order to together with us pray to and praise St. Tikhon, meet with us and regain strength to continue their labours. It is our heartfelt wish that such visits may be more frequent.” Bishop Foma presented His Beatitude with a portrait of St. Tikhon the Patriarch of All Russia. The OCA Primate cordially thanked the abbot and the brethren of the monastery for their hospitality and prayers and presented Bishop Foma with a holy panagia. | Archive Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America 25 October 2019 year 11:47 On 24 October 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), currently on a working visit to the USA with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, visited the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America in Syosset, NY, and met with His Beatitude Tikhon, Metropolitan of All America And Canada, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). Metropolitan Hilarion venerated the shrines at St. Sergius of Radonezh chapel and was welcomed by Metropolitan Tikhon and the OCA administration staff. The DECR chairman greeted His Beatitude and his fellow workers on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and presented a panagia to His Beatitude. Taking part in the meeting of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon with Metropolitan Hilarion were OCA chancellor Archpriest Alexander Rentel, OCA director for external affairs and interchurch relations Archpriest Leonid Kishkovsky, secretary to the Metropolitan Archdeacon Joseph Matusiak, Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov) and Rev. Mark Rashkov of the Moscow Patriarchate representation in New York, and subdeacon Vyacheslav Li who accompanied Metropolitan Hilarion in his trip. Topical issues pertaining to the present situation in the inter-Orthodox relations as well as the development of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America were discussed during the talk held in a warm friendly atmosphere of mutual understanding. The sides confirmed their interest in holding events and services to mark the 225th anniversary of the Orthodox mission to North America commenced by the monks from the Valaam monastery in North America and also the 50th anniversary of the autocephaly of the OCA granted by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1970 as well as the canonization of St. Herman of Alaska. Intention was expressed to continue interchurch contacts at the high level during celebration of the 25th anniversary of the OCA Moscow Representation opened at St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church in- the-Fields in 1994. Pilgrimages were also made to the famed monastery at Grabarka, Saint Mary Magdalene Cathedral in Warsaw, and the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Monastery in Zwierki, where the relics of the Holy Child-Martyr Gabriel of Zabludow are enshrined. " This trip showed me how Orthodox Christians from vastly different backgrounds—personally, nationally, from majority churches, from minority churches, and with widely differing opinions—can come together as the one Body of Christ, united by love in the Holy Spirit, strengthening the life of the whole Church, " commented OCA representative William Kopcha. The delegation accompanying His Beatitude on his visit included Archbishop David of Sitka and Alaska; Archimandrite Andrei (Hoarte), bishop-elect of Cleveland, auxiliary to the archbishop of the Romanian Episcopate; Archpriest Alexander Rentel, chancellor of the OCA; Archpriest Daniel Andrejuk, rector of the OCA Representation in Moscow; and Protodeacon Joseph Matusiak, secretary to the OCA Primate. Attending the events held during the OCA Primate’s visit was also Protopresbyter Daniel Hubiak, first rector of the Moscow Representation. On 7 th December 2019, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine In-the-Fields – the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America. The day before Metropolitan Tikhon had met with the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. In the evening of 7 th December, His Beatitude visited the Church of the ‘Joy of All Who Sorrow’ Icon of the Mother of God in Bolshaya Ordynka Street in Moscow. The next day the OCA Primate celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Hieromartyr Clement the Pope of Rome in Zamoskvorechye district in Moscow and visited St. Tikhon’s Orthodox University of Humanities to preside over the symposium on the life of the Orthodox Church in America.
