On the day of liturgical commemoration of Blessed Diadochus of Photica On the basis of liturgical manuscripts the author makes an attempt to clarify the date of liturgical commemoration of Diadochus of Photica, the exact day of which has hitherto remained controversial. The author analyzes the studies of Christou and Chelidze on the commemoration day of Blessed Diadochus; an edition of the text of the Greek hymnographical canon of March 29 is offered, as well as that of the Old Georgian text of the reading from the “Synaxarion» of George the Athonite, assigned for March 5. These texts attest the existence of three commemoration days of Blessed Diadochus: March 29, March 5 and Saturday of Cheesefare Week.

110th anniversary of a Russian consul " s tragic death commemorated in the north of Kosovo/Православие.Ru 110th anniversary of a Russian consul " s tragic death commemorated in the north of Kosovo Kosovska Mitrovica, April 4, 2013 On March 31, the 110th anniversary of death of the Russian consul Gregory Stepanovich Shcherbina (1868-1903) was commemorated in the north part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Alexander Chepurin, the current Russian ambassador in Serbia, and Alexander Vulin, the director of the Government Office of Kosovo and Metochia placed flowers to the monument in the north part of Kosovska Mitrovica to the Russian consul who had been killed in Kosovo and Metochia. Bishop Theodosius of Razhko-Prizren, all heads of districts of Kosovo and Metochia, heads of the north municipalities, representatives from the Pristina university as well as numerous citizens and others were present at this event. In the Technical Institute in Kosovska Mitrovica a meeting was held with discussion on the theme " Mission of the Russian consul Shcherbina against the backdrop of modern Russian-Serbian relations " , including a short film about the Russian consul " s life. Gregory Stepanovich Shcherbina was appointed a consul in the town of Kosovska Mitrovica early in March 1903. It was decided to send this experienced diplomat to Kosovska Mitrovica in order to get true information on the suffering of Serbian people at the peak of pogroms and attacks committed by Albanians at the turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries. In 1903 Shcherbina died of his wounds after an Albanian had shot him at point blank range in the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Serbs of Kosovo and Metochia took the death of Shcherbina as their national tragedy. According to reports of that time, Shcherbina " gave his life for Precious Cross, he suffered for Holy Orthodoxy and for freedom of Serbian people " . Pravoslavie.ru 7 апреля 2013 г. ... Question of Consecration of Commemorative Particles and Debate on the Moment of Transubstantiation Which Took Place in Moscow in the Last Quarter of the XVIIth Century: The article about the commemorative particles from the «Schit very» («Shield of Faith») and «Osten» («Pricker»), edited from the manuscripts ГИМ. Син. 346, 452, 546 M.M. Bernatsky Publication contains a Slavonic text of the article entitled «On the particles which are extracted at the Prothesis» edited from all the main manuscripts of the «Schit very» and «Osten», which are theological-polemical collections, prepared after a decree of the patriarch Ioachim of Moscow, and are intended to be an official («Schit very») profound refutation of the non-orthodox opinion on the moment of Transubstantiation – as well as some other delusions contained in the printed Ukranian books of the XVIIth century (and also in the works by Moscow theologians of the period who based their convictions on those books), which became popular in Moscow because of the joining of Ukraine to Muscovite Rus. Introduction to the text edited is devoted to the history of appearance of the named text and also of different statements on the question of transubstantiation of commemorative particles, which were expressed during the debate on the Transubstantiation which took place in Moscow in the last quarter of the XVII-th century. 1 По истории возникновения и содержанию полемики прежде всего см.: Миркович Г. There was also a strong seventh-century Mediterranean influence on the texts that I mentioned earlier; some of this influence was from Rome and Gaul, and some from Middle Eastern and North African exiles who had gathered in Rome. Also, you’ve got the strange depictions of animals, elongated dogs and other creatures that are quite distinctly Germanic, and the threelegged, so-called, triskeles that are Irish. There was mutual influence here. There is uncertainty about where many of these manuscripts actually originated. The Book of Kells could have come from a Northumbrian workshop via Iona. It contains an icon of the Mother of God that is pure Byzantine. So, in all these illuminated manuscripts you have the Romano-Greek Mediterranean influence, the Germanic influence, and the Irish influence, all beautifully synthesized. That is the reality and the beauty of the Church in this country – it had all of these elements. 30 марта 2009 г. Pelagianism: A heresy constructed by Pelagius, a fifth -century British lay ascetic, and Celestius, a priest, who denied the inheritance of the sin of Adam by his descendants, considering that each man is born innocent, and only thanks to moral freedom does he fall into sin. Pelagianism was condemned at the Third Ecumenical Council, along with Nestorianism.   Monothelitism: Monothelitism was a softened form of Monophysitism. While acknowledging two natures in Christ, the Monothelites taught that in Christ there was only one will – namely the Divine will. Adherents of the doctrine included several patriarchs of Constantinople who were later excommunicated (Pyrrhus, Paul, Theodore) and Honorius, Pope of Rome. The teaching was rejected as false at the Sixth Ecumenical Council.   Подпишитесь на рассылку Православие.Ru Рассылка выходит два раза в неделю: Предыдущий Следующий Смотри также Saint Edward the Martyr, King of England Dmitry Lapa Saint Edward the Martyr, King of England Commemorated: March 18/31 (Martyrdom) and September 3/16 (Local Translation of Relics) Dmitry Lapa St. Edward ascended the English throne in 975 at the age of only thirteen (or sixteen) after the sudden death of his father St. Edgar aged only thirty-two.
