Архаичность «Тридцати девяти статей» и сам характер этого документа, который освещал лишь наиболее важные в XVI в. богословские проблемы, крайняя лаконичность его формулировок, отсутствие разделов, касающихся эсхатологии, а также сколько-нибудь систематического изложения этической и социальной доктрины Церкви, осознавались англиканским духовенством. Потребность в дальнейшем развитии и уточнении доктринальных положений диктовалась наличием в Церкви Англии различных направлений – высокого, низкого, широкого, евангелического. В связи с этим в 1922 г. была учреждена особая Комиссия по доктрине, которая после шестнадцати лет работы представила конвокациям отчет «Доктрина в Церкви Англии» (Doctrine in the Church of England, 1938). Документ, состоявший из трех разделов – «Доктрина Бога и искупления», « Церковь и таинства» и «Эсхатология», не был одобрен конвокациями духовенства и не получил официального статуса, но тем не менее деятельность Комиссии считается важным этапом в развитии теологии англиканства. Официальные вероисповедные документы не отражают всего многообразия англиканской теологической мысли, однако Англиканская Церковь осознанно уклоняется от более точной формулировки своей доктрины, в особенности в этических и социальных вопросах, представляя взгляды ее иерархов и ведущих богословов как частные мнения, имеющие авторитет лишь в силу того, что они отражают общие тенденции в англиканстве.

Divine Liturgy was celebrated by a large host of archpastors and clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of ROCOR. An enormous gathering of worshipers was present, including both local faithful and pilgrims from throughout the world who venerate the memory of the ascetic life and achievements of the great hierarch of the Russian diaspora.

Итак, богословие требует от христиан мужества говорить о Боге ясно!     SUMMARY Petr Mikhaylov “Categories of Theological Thought”   The presented monograph aims at giving an answer although limited to the question: How to believe? The question is not about the object of faith, but about the subject of it. The author finds the grounds for an answer in the great heritage of Christianity accumulated in the works of Church Fathers and later theological and philosophical works. Some aspects of Christian mind once not enough lightened, e. g. theoretical principles and implicit rules of theologizing, are in the centre of the present investigation. No doubt the using of the word “Categories” in the title of the book should be explicated. By this term following the tradition going back to Aristotle the author understands a predicate, something that has an impact on the object. Speaking about theology in its predicates the author does not aspire to provide an exhaustive description of this kind of knowledge but takes over the task only to trace its aspects in different projections: in its essence and existence, both private and common. According to this intention the main subjects of book are arranged in the following order: 1. The generic analysis of theology that answer the question: what is theology? 2. The analysis of competencies and functions of theology answering the question: what is the situation of theology and how it works? 3. The diachronic analysis of theology from the point of view of its history and thereby answering the question about the time of theology: how theology was, is and will be and vice versa: how the same theology evaluates its time? According to this plan the first part is devoted to the most common themes of theology: the nature, character, sources and origin of theology are in the focus of research. In the second part the author turns to the practical specialties of theological and wider rational activity of mind in the field of faith. The main subjects of this part are following: nature of faith, frames of liberty, special aspects of building the theological thought according to its different needs in the realms of apologetics, polemics, cathechesis, dogmatics. The third part turns to historical nature of theology and tries to understand theology in its history as well as history as the aim of theology. In this case history is understood as an experience of coexistence of Man and God.
