Christ and the Rich Youth: A Homily on the Twelfth Sunday After Pentecost What Are We Lacking? “We Want Perfection Without Having First Trod the Road of the Commandments” Let Go!: On the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost “Why do you call me good? Only God is good.” This is what our Lord Jesus said to the wealthy young man in today’s gospel lesson. [Matthew 19:16-26] Why did our Lord say this? Was He denying His inherent deity as the Son of God? I recall a conversation I once had with a Jehovah’s Witness at my front door who tried to use this verse as “proof” that Jesus couldn’t possibly be God. Talking to me as if I were a slow-witted child he asked, “Now, you believe that God is good, right?” Yes, I agreed, God is good. “That’s right!” he said. “And so if God is good and Jesus said ‘don’t call Me good’ then how can Jesus be God?”

Peter Preble's blog It is very true that if we as leaders, do not have followers, then we are in fact out for a walk. I would also say the same is true. If we followers do not have a leader then we will wander around in a circle. Priest Peter-Michael Preble 06 April 2014 One of the classes I wish they taught us in the seminary was a course on leadership.  Unlike some of my classmates in the seminary, I have had an advantage of studying leadership.  You see I spent twelve and half years in the United States Army and the Massachusetts Army National Guard with more than half of that as a noncommissioned officer.  One of the first leadership lessons you learn is that to be a good leader you must first be a good follower.

Д. ( Richter. 1964. S. 55, 232-235, 274 sqq.). 1969-1988. Bd. 1. S. 38-39).

George Tsahakis 07 July 2018 A Good Death Good news for Sudanese woman Sharing the Good News of the Resurrection of Christ If we are going to be most effective in reaching people for Christ, I believe our strategy should be to show people that we really care. Evangelism and missions must be relational in nature. I can’t find an incident in Holy Scripture in which Jesus walks up to someone and says: “I am the Messiah” and then He shows care for them. No, our Lord offered His care for them first, and then He revealed Himself to them. With this thought in mind, consider the following story which I wish to use to highlight the various strategies being used to witness the “Good News” of our Lord, using its simple plot involving a passenger on a luxury liner who suddenly falls overboard.
